Time for some fun!

When you’re having fun and laughing, it’s pretty hard to be stressed.

Making time for things and people that bring us joy is a priority.

Are you making time to have fun in your day? Scheduling in some friend time or a fun new activity for yourself?

Seeing life through a light-hearted lens and not taking things too seriously makes everything easier.

When you’re feeling stressed and overwhelmed, fun may be the last thing on your mind. Within all of us though is our little inner child who just wants to feel safe, heard and have some fun! Letting your inner child lead the way in some play can be the best medicine there is.

4 Hidden Stressors to Your Nervous System:

1. Sugar and Additives:

Often hidden in foods, sugar and additives have an inflammatory effect on the body, making it difficult to heal. They cause blood sugar levels to peak and crash, which puts significant stress on your system.

2. Mould:

If you have issues with flooding or dampness in your home, workplace, schools, or gyms, mould can lead to a significant neuroinflammatory response in your body. Symptoms like brain fog, mood changes, cough, mucus production, and fatigue may arise. If you notice a damp or musty smell, it’s likely mould. The environment needs to be cleaned up, and there are protocols to support your body during this process.

3. EMF (Electromagnetic Fields):

Non-native EMFs from technology can negatively impact your health. To mitigate these effects, consider putting devices on flight mode, turning off Wi-Fi while sleeping, and researching EMF protective devices.

4. Blue Light:

The blue light emitted by technology increases cortisol, the stress hormone, and disrupts circadian rhythms. To protect your nervous system, reduce screen time, especially in the late afternoon and evening, and use blue light blocking glasses or filters through apps.

These four stressors are often sneaky and can be easily overlooked! See how reducing their impact can powerfully improve your family's health.

Today’s Activity:

Make time for fun

SOLO

Today is has no official activity except to make time for what you feel is fun!

Some ideas-

  • Dance to your favourite song

  • Sing loudly (the more out of tune the funnier)

  • Try a creative project- draw, paint, craft

  • Try an activity you used to enjoy as a child

  • Watch a funny movie or video

  • Play games

  • Skip around the house instead of walking

WITH YOUR KIDS

Children can bring out the silliest and funniest side of our personalities. Join in on their games with what they find fun, and show them something you used to find fun as a kid (and maybe still do!). A family dance is a great way to lift into that joyful, playful space.

Bonus Tips…

Activate the vagus nerve with…

Humming and singing. This vibrates the back of the throat, calming down our nervous system but also… it’s fun!

Try humming your favourite song the whole way through.

If you’d love a calming ‘hum friendly’ song this is one of my favourites;
